Before you choose

Count the minutes, not the credits

What you are buying is minutes of finished video, and four of the five tools let you work out how many their entry plan gives:

  • D-ID Pro gives 15 minutes a month for $16 a month billed annually ($191 a year). Each video's length is rounded up to the next 15 seconds.
  • Vidnoz Starter gives 300 credits a month for $13.50 a month billed yearly. A standard avatar costs 0.5 credits a second, so that is 10 minutes. Expressive and product avatars cost 2 credits a second, which leaves 2.5 minutes.
  • Colossyan Professional gives 30 minutes a month with its NEO avatars, plus 10 with NEO2, for $59 a month billed yearly.
  • Synthesia Starter gives 10 minutes a month for $264 a year.
  • HeyGen doesn't give a minute count for Creator. Its 600 credits a month make anywhere from 12.5 to 150 minutes, depending on which avatar model you use.

Among those four, D-ID Pro gives the most for the money, about 0.94 minutes a dollar. HeyGen's could be more or less, depending on the avatar you pick. Checked Sep 25 to Sep 27, 2026.

If the video is for business, check the licence

We rank each tool on its cheapest paid plan whose licence allows commercial use, and on D-ID that is not the cheapest plan. D-ID's Lite, $4.70 a month billed annually, carries a personal use licence; Pro, at $16, is the first plan with commercial use. HeyGen's free plan output is for personal, non-commercial and internal evaluation use only; its terms allow commercial use on Creator, Pro and Business.

Ads are a separate question. Synthesia lets you use its stock avatars and voices on your website and social channels, but not in paid ads or on TV without its permission; custom avatars are exempt. Colossyan's Acceptable Use Policy bars its stock avatars, voices or models from TV broadcasting and advertising. We count both as commercial use with limits. Checked Sep 25 and Sep 26, 2026.

Which paid plans still add a watermark

D-ID Pro videos carry an AI watermark, and its FAQ says even Enterprise users can change it but not remove it. The other four remove theirs on the entry plan: Vidnoz Starter, Synthesia Starter, Colossyan Professional and HeyGen Creator. On HeyGen the watermark is on by default, and you switch it off each time you submit a video. Checked Sep 25 to Sep 27, 2026.

If you can pay for a year upfront

Every one of the five charges less a month when you pay for a year:

  • Vidnoz Starter's 300-credit package is sold only yearly. Monthly, the smallest package is 450 credits for $26.99, and Vidnoz doesn't refund 1-month subscriptions.
  • D-ID Pro is $29 billed monthly, against $16.
  • HeyGen Creator is $29 monthly, against $24 a month paid yearly.
  • Colossyan Professional is $89 monthly, against $59. Yearly plans get the whole year's minutes upfront.
  • Synthesia Starter is $29 monthly. Its page gives the yearly price two ways: $18 a month on the plan card and $264 a year in its FAQ. We use the FAQ's figure, the higher one.

How the ranking weighs them

The entry plan's price counts for 30% of the score, minutes per dollar 25%, stock avatars 15%, and languages, watermark and licence, and a free plan or trial 10% each. We have not scored output quality. The formula behind each criterion is on how we score AI avatar video.
