How much does an AI video generator cost?
Quick answer
Entry plans for AI video generators cost from $4.99 a month (Google AI Plus) to $28 a month billed annually (Pika Creator). Most sit between about $10 and $25. The price matters less than what the credits buy: by our readings, entry plans make from 20 seconds to 500 seconds of video a month. Top individual plans run from $48 a month (Leonardo.Ai Ultimate, billed yearly) to $880 for Pika's largest tier.
AI video generators charge a monthly subscription that buys credits, and each clip spends credits by model, length and resolution. Below are the entry plans of the 11 tools in our AI video generator ranking, from each company's own pages, read Sep 25 to Sep 27, 2026. The entry plan is the cheapest paid plan whose licence allows commercial use; for Google Flow, whose pages don't state commercial use, it is the cheapest paid plan.

How the credit maths works
Divide the monthly credits by what one clip costs. Luma Plus has 10,000 credits and Ray3.2 costs "720p - 100 credits/5 sec": 100 clips, 500 seconds. At 1080p (400 credits per 5 seconds) the same plan makes 125 seconds. Runway does the sum for you: "625 credits monthly = 52s of Gen-4.5". Kling's guide prices a 5-second 720p clip at 30 credits, so Standard's 660 credits make 22 clips.
Resolution changes the answer most. Adobe's credit rates charge 100 credits a second at 1080p and 20 at 540p, which is why its plans page's "Up to 20" five-second videos only holds at 540p. Leonardo.Ai and Hedra publish no clip cost, so you learn it in the app.
Typical and top plans
The next tier up usually costs two to four times the entry plan: Runway Pro $28 a month billed annually for 2,250 credits, Kling Pro $293.04 a year for 3000 credits, Adobe Firefly Pro $19.99 for 4,000 credits, Luma Pro $75 billed yearly for 40,000 credits.
At the top, individual plans include Runway Max at $76 billed annually, Luma Ultra at $250 billed yearly, Kling Ultra at $159.99 a month, Hailuo Max at $216 a month, Adobe Firefly Premium at $199.99, and Pika Fancy up to $880 a month.
Team seats
Per seat on the cheapest team plan: Adobe Firefly Pro for teams $19.99 a license on an annual commitment; Invideo AI Starter $20 a seat, up to 5 seats; Leonardo.Ai Team Starter $24 a seat, minimum 3; Runway Team $55 a seat billed yearly, 2 to 9 seats; Kling Team Plan $59 a seat billed yearly, minimum 3; Higgsfield Team $65 a seat billed annually. Luma's Team plan is "Contact us"; Hedra's Teams is $75 a month with no seat count.
Top-ups, promotions and renewals
- Credit packs. Pika sells 60 credits per $1, packs from $50, expiring after 365 days. Kling's credits policy says "$1 USD = 66 Credits", valid 2 years. Runway sells extra credits from a 1,000-credit minimum at a price not on its pricing page. Google Flow lets subscribers buy AI credits at a price its pages don't show.
- First-period prices. Kling's Standard is $6.99 for the first month, then $8.80. Adobe's Pro Plus offer, $34.97, is for the first year only (the offer ends Oct 21); the regular price is $49.99.
- Offers without end dates. Hailuo's card prices sit below the list prices in its terms; Higgsfield's Plus, Ultra and Team show "OFF" tags. Budget on the list price.
- Unused credits. Luma's expire each billing cycle; Runway's Standard and Higgsfield's Starter credits don't roll over.
What to budget
For a few short clips a month, $7 to $12 covers Kling (whose terms conflict on commercial use), Runway or Adobe Firefly. For several minutes of 720p video, Luma Plus at $25 billed yearly buys the most in our comparison. Our credit costs comparison and the methodology page show how we count seconds.
