Switching from Artlist: publish before your plan expires, and the 14-day notice
Updated Oct 6, 2026
Publish and clearlist every project that uses Artlist assets before the plan expires: new projects are not covered afterwards, and one Artlist page says even published use loses cover. Its terms renew the plan unless you give notice within 14 days before the next billing cycle. Refunds only apply within 14 days of a payment and only if nothing was downloaded, generated or used. Envato and Motion Array have similar rules after cancelling.

With Artlist, what matters when you leave is what you publish before the plan expires. We read Artlist's help centre, terms and licence, and the destinations' pages, on Sep 30, 2026.
Publish and clearlist before the plan ends
Artlist's licence says projects you publish during your subscription can be used and monetised forever. Its refund article is stricter: once cancelled, the licence no longer covers downloaded assets "in new or published projects after the plan expires". We read that the worse way. Finish, publish and add every video to the Clearlist while the plan is active; the same article says projects must be added to the clearlist while the plan is active. An unpublished project is not covered once the plan ends. The Artlist editing Tools also drop to free, watermarked versions.
Download what you need, within the daily cap
Artlist describes no account export. Assets stay in your library only while you have an active paid subscription, and downloads are capped at 40 songs, 100 SFX, 40 templates and/or 100 clips a day. If you have many projects in progress, spread the downloads over several days.
Time the cancellation
The terms renew your plan unless you give notice within 14 calendar days before the next billing cycle. The payments help page says you can cancel renewal at any time. We use the stricter reading: cancel at least 14 days before renewal. Most Artlist plans are billed yearly; monthly billing is only on the Music & SFX Social and AI Suite plans.
Cancel with Cancel renewal in your account. Artlist's pages name no early termination fee; the plan is terminated at the end of your current billing period, with no further charges. A refund is possible only for a payment made within the last 14 days, and only if no assets were downloaded, generated or used. Max costs $50.66 a month billed yearly. Prices from its pricing page, read Sep 25, 2026. To delete the account, contact Artlist after the subscription has expired.
Where to go
No destination describes importing Artlist downloads, and your Artlist licence doesn't move with you: you license assets again at the new service.
Canva. For work you edit inside Canva. Canva Pro includes 100GB of uploads for your own audio and video, and its stock carries a perpetual licence in each design you export, though Canva may change its licences. Pro costs $144 a year. Prices from its pricing page, read Sep 25, 2026.
Envato. Music, footage and templates. Its Claim Clear feature lets you safelist up to 3 YouTube channels, the closest thing to Artlist's Clearlist, or clear up to 30 videos a month; clearances usually take minutes, and up to 24 hours with some partners. Like Artlist, items can't be used in new projects after you cancel. Core costs $16.50 a month billed yearly. Prices from its pricing page, read Sep 25, 2026.
Motion Array. Its claim remover tool accepts YouTube claims where the claimant is Artlist, for tracks licensed through Motion Array rather than your Artlist licence; dispute the claim on YouTube first. Templates need editing software such as After Effects. Projects finished while you pay stay covered after you cancel, but downloaded assets can't go into new projects. Everything costs $24.99 a month billed yearly. Prices from its sign-up page, read Sep 25, 2026.
Who should switch
Switch at the end of a billing period, once every project using Artlist assets is published and clearlisted. Wait if you have unpublished client work: it loses cover when the plan expires. Compare the options in our stock media ranking and see how we score them.
