Price

Squarespace Basic is $19 a month billed annually, $228 a year, or $25 month to month.

Webflow Basic is $15 a month billed yearly, $180 a year, or $25 month to month. Webflow's prices are per site, plus applicable taxes.

Billed yearly, Webflow Basic costs $48 a year less for one site; month to month the two cost the same. Neither shows an introductory price. Webflow includes no domain, so add a registrar's fee.

Where they differ

  • The domain. Squarespace gives a free custom domain for one year on annual plans. Webflow says it isn't a domain registrar; you can buy a domain from IONOS through Webflow, or bring one.
  • Support. Webflow says it provides customer support via email and aims to reply within 48 hours. Squarespace offers email 24/7 and live chat Monday to Friday, 4 AM to 8 PM ET; it doesn't offer phone help. Its pricing table lists "24/7 customer support" on Basic, but chat runs on weekday hours only.
  • Trying it. Webflow's free Starter plan has no time limit but runs on webflow.io with 2 static pages. Squarespace has a 14-day trial with no card.
  • Content and pages. Webflow Basic is for sites that don't need a CMS, with 300 static pages and 10 GB bandwidth; a CMS needs Premium at $25 a month billed yearly.
  • Restaurants. Squarespace Basic includes an OpenTable block and a Menu block. Webflow's pricing page lists no menu, reservation or ordering feature.

Who should pick which

Pick Squarespace if you want a domain bundled for the first year, chat with a person on weekdays, or a restaurant site with OpenTable. Squarespace is on our list of website builders for restaurants.

Pick Webflow if you are a designer who wants a visual editor, already own a domain, and are fine with email support.
