Switching from Acuity Scheduling: export to CSV, then take down your booking page

Updated Oct 15, 2026

The short answer

Export appointments from Reports and your client list from Clients, both as CSV. Cancel any time: Squarespace-billed plans run to the end of the cycle, and annual plans cancelled within 14 days of purchase get a full refund. On Squarespace billing, clients then can't book and reminders stop, but scheduling blocks on your site stay until you delete them. Setmore offers a free switch call and CSV import; Calendly's contacts importer is only for select users, and Cal.com's migration service is for teams of 30+ users.

The steps

  1. Step 1 · not stated on its pages · not stated on its pages

    Export your appointments

  6. Step 6 · Google shows updates immediately; Microsoft and iCloud may take up to 10 minutes · not stated on its pages

Keep managing remaining Acuity appointments in Acuity

Acuity replaces changes made on your outside calendar with the details in Acuity, so reschedule or cancel leftover Acuity appointments in Acuity.

  7. Step 7 · Search results change only after search engines re-crawl your site · not stated on its pages

Take down your Acuity booking page

Delete the scheduling blocks you added to your site; they aren't removed when you cancel. Acuity asks search engines to drop your scheduling page.

  8. Step 8 · End of the billing cycle, unless you cancel immediately (Squarespace billing) · Annual plans cancelled within 14 days of purchase get an automatic full refund

    Cancel Acuity

Squarespace-managed billing: Billing panel, Scheduling, Cancel Subscription. Acuity-managed billing: Manage Billing, Cancel Subscription, which moves you to the legacy free plan.

Carries over

  • Appointments export as a CSV file, with intake-form answers as an option.
  • The client list exports separately; Setmore imports contacts from CSV, and so does Calendly for select users.
  • No cancellation fee, and annual plans are refunded in full within 14 days of purchase.
  • Past appointments stay viewable and client data exportable after a Squarespace-billed plan ends.

What you lose

  • None of the three names an Acuity importer on its pages; existing appointments are re-entered at Setmore.
  • On Squarespace billing, reminder and follow-up emails stop for appointments still on the books.
  • Scheduling blocks on your site aren't removed when you cancel.
  • Cal.com's migration service is for teams of 30+ users.

Acuity makes leaving fairly simple: appointments and clients both export as spreadsheets, and there's no cancellation fee. The part to plan is your booking page. Once a Squarespace-billed subscription ends, clients can't book, but any scheduling blocks on your site stay until you remove them. Facts below are from each company's own pages, read Oct 1, 2026.

Leaving Acuity

Export your bookings and clients. Acuity's export guide says you can export data "to move information out of Acuity in bulk." Under Reports, then Import/Export, download a .csv file of appointments. You can add intake form answers, but selecting a form limits the export to appointments with that form attached. Run it once without forms to include every appointment. The client list exports separately from Clients, then Import/export.

Cancelling. Account owners and contributors with Admin or Billing permissions can cancel at any time. How it works depends on who bills you. With Squarespace-managed billing, the subscription runs to the end of the billing cycle unless you cancel immediately. With Acuity-managed billing, you drop to the legacy free plan and your data is saved.

Refunds and renewals. Annual plans cancelled within 14 days of purchase get an automatic full refund. Beyond that, the Squarespace Terms of Service, which cover Acuity, give refunds only at Squarespace's discretion or where the law requires. Subscriptions renew for the same period, and you can turn off auto-renewal at any time. The pricing page lists no set-up or cancellation fees.

After it ends. On Squarespace billing, clients can no longer book. You can still view past appointments and export client data. Existing appointments aren't cancelled, but reminder and follow-up emails stop. So tell clients with upcoming visits yourself. Acuity asks search engines to drop your scheduling page, which takes effect when they re-crawl. On the legacy free plan, clients can still book unless you remove all your availability.

Your calendar. Acuity syncs appointments to Google, iCloud and Outlook. Changes made on the outside calendar don't stick: Acuity replaces them with the details it holds. Until your last Acuity appointment has passed, reschedule those inside Acuity.

Where to go

None of the three names an Acuity-specific importer on the pages we read, so each move runs through a general path.

Setmore offers a free call with its team to plan the switch. You upload your exported client file; its CSV importer handles 1,000 contacts at a time. Existing appointments must be re-entered by hand. Its two-way Google sync imports your Google events, so Acuity appointments still on that calendar show in Setmore.

Calendly can import contacts from a CSV file with names and emails, but the importer is in limited availability for select users. No migration service is described. Once you connect your calendar, Calendly checks it for busy times.

Cal.com runs a migration service for teams of 30+ users. Its team transfers event types and user details, typically within 1-2 weeks, priced by quote. The pages we read describe no self-serve import for smaller accounts.

Who should move, and who should wait

If you bought an annual plan in the last 14 days, cancelling now gets a full refund. Otherwise, export early, set up the new booking page, then cancel near your renewal date. If many clients have upcoming appointments, Setmore's manual re-entry is the main job; budget for it. Compare the options on our appointment scheduling ranking, and see how we score them in the methodology.
