Who should pick which

  • Adobe Acrobat Sign: PDF editing and e-signature requests in one Acrobat subscription, from $14.99 a month
  • Zoho Sign: Zoho users who want signing linked to Zoho CRM, Books and other Zoho apps, from $10 a user

Adobe no longer shows a self-serve Acrobat Sign plan: e-signature requests come with Acrobat subscriptions, and the standalone Acrobat Sign Solutions are sold through sales. So Adobe's side here is Acrobat Standard, the cheapest plan on its plans page whose card lists "Collect e-signatures and track responses". Acrobat Express doesn't send for signature.

Prices from Zoho Sign's pricing page and Adobe's plans page, both read Sep 27, 2026.

Where they differ

  • Templates. Zoho's templates help article says: "This feature is available only in Professional and Enterprise Editions." Professional is US$16 per user a month billed annually. Adobe's help page lets you save an agreement as a template, with no plan limit stated.

  • Signer checks. Zoho's Standard card lists "Recipient authentication & identification", and its table ticks SMS OTP, knowledge-based checks from IDology and Stripe Identity for Standard. Adobe's pages don't state signer ID verification for Acrobat Standard.
  • Extra costs. Zoho sells credits at US$0.10 each in packs of 500, used by envelopes sent through the API or third-party apps.
  • Support. Zoho lists priority support by email, web and phone on Standard. Adobe lists phone and chat for Acrobat Standard.
  • Free option. Zoho Sign has a free plan: single user, 5 envelopes a month. A free Acrobat account allows two requests every 30 days.

Who should pick which

Pick Zoho Sign if you want the lower per-user price, signer ID checks on the entry plan, and can work without templates or pay for Professional.

Pick Adobe Acrobat Standard if you reuse templates, edit PDFs, or want chat as well as phone support.
