Who should pick which

  • Adobe Acrobat Sign: PDF editing and e-signature requests in one Acrobat subscription, from $14.99 a month
  • Dropbox Sign: One sender with unlimited signature requests at $15 a month billed yearly, or 3 a month free

Adobe no longer shows a self-serve Acrobat Sign plan: e-signature requests come with Acrobat subscriptions, and the standalone Acrobat Sign Solutions are sold through sales. So Adobe's side here is Acrobat Standard, the cheapest plan on its plans page whose card lists "Collect e-signatures and track responses". Acrobat Express doesn't send for signature.

Price

Billed yearly, the two are a cent a month apart: Dropbox Sign Essentials is $15 a month ($180 a year), Acrobat Standard US$14.99 a month (US$179.88 a year). Month to month, Essentials is $20 and Acrobat Standard US$24.99, so Adobe costs US$4.99 a month more.

The annual terms differ. Adobe's annual plan billed monthly charges "up to half your remaining annual commitment if you cancel after 14 days", and its prepaid plan has no refund after 14 days. Dropbox Sign's pages we read don't state cancellation terms.

For a team, Dropbox Sign Standard is $25 per user a month billed yearly with a 2-user minimum, "Starting at $600 USD billed yearly"; five or more users go through sales. Acrobat Standard for teams is US$16.99 per license a month on an annual plan, US$84.95 a month for five.

Prices from Dropbox Sign's pricing page and Adobe's plans page, both read Sep 27, 2026.

Where they differ

  • Request limit. Dropbox Sign says Essentials senders can collect signatures "on an unlimited number of documents" (help centre). Adobe's pages don't state a limit for Acrobat Standard; only its teams plans are described as having "no usage caps".
  • Templates. Essentials allows up to five templates. Adobe's help page lets you save an agreement as a template and names no plan limit.
  • Free plan. Dropbox Sign's free plan sends 3 signature requests a month. A free Acrobat account allows two every 30 days.
  • Support. Adobe lists phone and chat for Acrobat Standard. Dropbox Sign's pricing table lists "Email" for Essentials, while that row's tooltip says all customers get email and chat. We use the table's reading: email only.
  • PDF work. Acrobat Standard also creates, edits, converts and organizes PDFs. Dropbox Sign is a signing service; SMS authentication, branding and bulk send start at its Standard plan.

Who should pick which

Pick Dropbox Sign if you send many requests on your own, want a stated unlimited allowance, want a free plan to start, or want month-to-month billing at $20.

Pick Adobe Acrobat Standard if you edit PDFs as well as send them, or want phone support on the entry plan.
