Price

Hostinger Premium is $2.99 a month for 48 months, paid upfront as $143.52, and then "Renews at $10.99/mo". The builder page shows only that 48-month term and doesn't say how long the renewal term is.

Jimdo Start is $11 a month on a 12-month contract term paid at once, $132 a year. Jimdo says prices for other terms may vary and doesn't publish them. It shows no introductory price.

Over four years at today's prices, Jimdo Start adds up to $528, against Hostinger's $143.52 upfront: $384.48 more. After Hostinger's first term, the two sit close: $10.99 against $11 a month.

Where they differ

  • Commitment. Hostinger's builder page asks for 48 months upfront. Jimdo's published prices are for 12 months.
  • Support. Hostinger's Premium card offers "chatbot support from Hostinger Agent", which can hand over to a person. Its main pricing page lists priority 24/7 support on Premium; we use the builder page, the worse reading. No phone support is published. Jimdo Start gets support tickets, opened through its AI assistant, answered within 1-2 workdays; no chat with a person or phone.
  • Free plan. Jimdo has a free plan on a .jimdosite.com address with 5 pages and Jimdo ads. Hostinger has no free plan; its builder page offers a 14-day trial, but the help centre says 7 days, and we use 7. Trial sites can't be published.
  • Limits. Hostinger Premium covers up to 3 websites and 2 mailboxes per website, free for 1 year. Jimdo Start lists 10 pages.
  • Branding and domain. Jimdo Start is ad-free with a domain included; its page doesn't say whether the domain is free only for the first year. Hostinger's domain is free for 1 year, and its pages don't say whether paid sites carry Hostinger branding.
  • Restaurants. Jimdo's restaurant page offers Menu blocks and Jimdo Bookings; pickup ordering needs an Online Store plan, from $18 a month. Hostinger's restaurant page offers a menu upload with a QR code.

Who should pick which

Pick Hostinger if you are sure of a four-year run, want the smaller total for that stretch, and want a few sites and mailboxes in one plan.

Pick Jimdo if you'd rather commit for 12 months, want a free plan to start on, or run a restaurant that needs menus and bookings. Jimdo is on our list of website builders for restaurants.
