Prices from GoDaddy's website builder page and Squarespace's pricing page, read Sep 27, 2026.

Price

GoDaddy's Starter is $9.99 a month billed annually in the first year, $119.88. The price after that isn't published; month to month it is $19.99, which we use as the long-run price, the worse reading.

Squarespace Basic is $19 a month billed annually, $228 a year, or $25 month to month. It shows no introductory price.

In year one GoDaddy costs $108.12 less on annual billing. Month to month, GoDaddy is $5.01 a month less than Squarespace. What GoDaddy's annual plan costs from year two, it doesn't say.

Where they differ

  • Branding. Squarespace says its "Made with Squarespace" text is optional and you can remove it. GoDaddy lists "Remove Airo branding" as coming soon on Professional and Ultimate only; no plan removes it today.
  • Support. GoDaddy offers 24/7 expert support via phone and chat. Squarespace offers email around the clock and live chat Monday to Friday, 4 AM to 8 PM ET, and no phone help.
  • Trying it. Squarespace has a 14-day free trial with no card. GoDaddy's free tier gives 50 AI credits a month to build preview sites; publishing starts on Starter.
  • Restaurants. Squarespace Basic includes an OpenTable block and a Menu block; ChowNow ordering needs Core or higher. GoDaddy's food and beverage page says you can prompt menu, ordering and reservation apps and connect OpenTable, Resy and Toast; its builder page puts online payments and appointment bookings on Professional ($24.99 a month for the first annual year).
  • The domain. Both include a free domain with annual billing: GoDaddy's Starter card lists it, and Squarespace's lasts one year before the standard rate.

Who should pick which

Pick GoDaddy if you want an AI to build the first draft, value phone support at any hour, and are fine with the Airo branding and an unknown year-two price.

Pick Squarespace if you want one published price that doesn't jump, a site without the builder's footer, and a restaurant menu and OpenTable reservations on the entry plan.
