Price

Carrd's Pro Standard is $19 a year, about $1.58 a month, for 10 sites. There is no monthly billing, and Carrd says you can renew automatically or pay as you go.

Squarespace Basic is $19 a month billed annually, which comes to $228 a year, or $25 a month paid month to month ($300 a year). On annual billing that is $209 a year more than Carrd's Pro Standard.

Neither shows an introductory price, so today's prices are also the renewal prices. Two costs sit outside those figures. Carrd includes no domain, so you pay a registrar as well. Squarespace's free domain lasts one year on annual plans, then the standard rate applies.

Where they differ

Who should pick which

Pick Carrd if you need one page on a domain you already own, and a $19 yearly bill matters more than live help.

Pick Squarespace if you want a domain bundled for the first year, a 14-day trial before paying, chat on weekdays, or a restaurant site with OpenTable reservations and a menu on the Basic plan. Squarespace is on our list of website builders for restaurants.
