How much does a website builder cost? Intro prices, renewals and add-ons
Quick answer
For a site on your own domain without the builder's branding, entry plans cost from $19 a year (Carrd) to $19.99 a month (GoDaddy month to month) once intro offers end. Most sit between $11 and $17 a month on yearly billing. Watch the renewals: Hostinger goes from $2.99 to $10.99 a month, and IONOS from $6 to $14. Monthly billing usually costs more.
A website builder's price has three parts: the plan, what it renews at after any introductory offer, and add-ons such as a domain after year one. Here is what each costs on the ten builders in our website builder ranking, from their own pages read on Sep 27, 2026.
Entry plans
The entry plan is the cheapest plan that connects your own domain without the builder's ads or badge (GoDaddy has no plan without its branding, so we use its cheapest plan with your own domain).

What a year costs
On yearly billing with no intro offer, a year costs $132 on Jimdo Start, $180 on Webflow Basic, $192 on Strikingly Pro, $204 on Wix Light and $228 on Squarespace Basic. Carrd is $19.
Where there is an intro price, the first year and later years differ:
- IONOS Starter: $72 in year one, then $168 a year at the later price.
- GoDaddy Starter: $119.88 for the first annual year. GoDaddy doesn't publish the annual price after that; a year paid month to month is $239.88.
- Hostinger Premium: $143.52 for 48 months paid upfront. It renews at $10.99 a month, which would be $527.52 for another 48 months.
SITE123's card shows $12.80 a month, and its FAQ says "as low as $10.8" on an annual plan paid up front. Its real packages are priced only after sign-up, so we can't give a yearly total.
Paying monthly, or for longer
Monthly billing costs more where it is offered: Squarespace Basic $25, Webflow Basic $25, Strikingly Pro $20 and GoDaddy Starter $19.99. Longer prepays can cost less: Strikingly Pro falls to $14 a month for 2 years, $12 for 3 years and $11.20 for 5 years. Wix and Jimdo mention other terms but don't publish their prices.
Typical and top plans
The next plan up usually adds a store, more pages or a CMS:
- Wix Core: $29 a month yearly; Business $39; Business Elite $159.
- Squarespace Core: $29 annually or $39 monthly; Advanced tops out at $99 or $139.
- Webflow Premium: $25 yearly or $39 monthly, per site.
- Jimdo Grow: $17 a month; Unlimited $49.50.
- IONOS Plus: $1 a month in year one, then $20.
- Strikingly VIP: $49 a month yearly, with phone support and 0% store fee.
- GoDaddy Professional: $24.99 a month first year, $49.99 monthly.
Add-ons and fees
- Domains after year one. Most entry plans include a domain for the first year on yearly terms. Strikingly lists domains at $24.95 a year. Carrd and Webflow include none, so you pay a registrar from day one.
- Email. Strikingly custom email is $25 a year. Hostinger's mailboxes are free for a year, then $0.59 a month each.
- Store fees. Strikingly Pro takes a 2% transaction fee on sales. Webflow's Ecommerce Standard plan ($29 a month yearly) takes 2%.
- Bandwidth. Webflow Premium adds 50 GB for $20 a month billed annually, or $30 billed monthly.
- Taxes. IONOS notes that state and local taxes apply, and Webflow adds applicable taxes at checkout.
Free plans and trials
Six builders have a free plan: Wix, SITE123, Strikingly, Jimdo, Carrd and Webflow. None of them uses your own domain for free. Squarespace has a 14-day trial with no credit card. Hostinger's trial is 7 days per its help centre (14 on its builder page), and IONOS doesn't state its trial length. GoDaddy's free tier builds previews; publishing starts on Starter.
