Business formation

How much does an LLC formation service cost?

Quick answer

On top of the state's fee, LLC formation services charge $0 to $399 for their entry package. Six start at $0 and five at $99 to $109. The real difference is what follows: a $0 package can bill $149 to $468 in year two, and some services require a registered agent or membership from day one. Add-ons such as the EIN cost $69 to $99.

Every service adds its own charges to the state's filing fee, which is the same whoever files. This guide covers those charges only. Prices come from each company's own pages, read Sep 25 and Sep 27, 2026.

Typical and top packages

The middle package usually adds the EIN, the operating agreement or both. It costs $134 at MyCorporation (Standard), $199 at Bizee, Swyft Filings and ZenBusiness, $219 at CorpNet (Deluxe) and $249 at LegalZoom (Pro). Top packages are mostly $249 to $299; Harbor Compliance's Premium Formation is $499. ZenBusiness's and Tailor Brands' middle and top packages are priced per year, and doola bills all its plans annually. doola's top plans are $1,999 and $2,999 a year because they add tax filing and bookkeeping.

What the first year really costs

Some low prices need another purchase:

  • Rocket Lawyer: the $0 filing requires a membership, and Standard is $149 a year or $34.99 a month.
  • Firstbase: Start requires Firstbase Agent at $299 a year, so year one is $698. Founders without a US address also need Mailroom, $35 a month or $315 a year.
  • CorpNet: Basic is $99 plus a 3% convenience fee, or $101.97, plus shipping it doesn't price. Its registered agent lasts 60 days, then the subscription is $149 a year.

What you pay from year two

This is where $0 packages differ most:

  • Bizee: the free year of registered agent service renews at $149 a year.
  • ZenBusiness: Worry-Free Compliance renews at $199 a year, plus a preselected website builder at $15 a month. That is $379 a year with both, or $199 if you remove the website trial.
  • Swyft Filings: the ComplianceGuard trial becomes $199 a year.
  • Tailor Brands: the bookkeeping trial becomes $39 a month, $468 a year.
  • Registered Agents Inc: its included agent year then costs $200 a year.
  • doola: Starter renews at $297 a year.
  • LegalZoom, MyCorporation, InCorp and Harbor Compliance bill nothing after year one on their entry package, unless you add their agent or other services.

Add-ons

Fees and refunds

CorpNet adds 3% and MyCorporation charges shipping on every order, amount not published. If you cancel, MyCorporation keeps $50 and InCorp a $29 processing fee, and both refund only before filing. CorpNet refunds 100% of its fees on request within 60 days.
