How we rank

Our methodology is the main explanation of how HonestReviews scores and orders products and services.

It sets out the criteria and weights used for each category, what we exclude from the assessment, the score bands and corresponding star display, and the version history of our scoring rules.

Our scores assess published evidence. They are not the results of hands-on testing, customer satisfaction surveys or a guarantee of future performance.

A score and a ranking position are not the same thing. Editorial scores follow the scoring rubric. List positions can also reflect a limited earnings-based adjustment under our hybrid ranking policy.
